March 3, 2010 Pleased to announce that we have another outstanding pitching instructor joining us. Keith Dunckel will now offer his expertise to our students in the art of pitching. He has been working with youth baseball players and pitchers for years. He has college pitching experience and pitched in the San Diego Padres organization as well. I am announcing that SBA is now moving its operation to the SportZone here in Topeka. For the past year and a half, we have been instructing inside Master Overbeys. The Overbeys' have been very accommodating and true professionals throughout the entire experience. I would like to say a special thank you to Patrick Overbey and his staff. Sincerely, Coach Rob December 9, 2008 I am pleased to announce that SBA is now offering pitching instruction. We are lucky enough to have former pitchers Mike Hughes and Tony Shaw join our instructor staff. They share the same passion for teaching as I do. They both have worked with youth in Topeka for quite some time. I am honored to have them associated with SBA. Coach Rob September 12, 2008 Thank you for taking the time to check out Smith Baseball Academy. I am a baseball coach/instructor that doesn't know much about hosting a website - so please be patient with me. I have much more fun working with the students - swinging, throwing, gettin' some glove-work in, you name it. I am a former professional baseball player w/ the Cleveland Indians and I have been instructing and coaching youth baseball for years. I have always had a sincere passion for coaching/teaching the ins and outs of this wonderful game of baseball. After years of prodding from family, friends, collegues, parents, kids, coaches and more - I have finally taken my coaching to an all new level. In February of this year, 2008, I started taking on baseball students on a regular basis. Now, I am spending most of my, what used to be spare time, teaching and developing ordinary kids into serious ball players. It doesn't matter to me what age, how tall, how short, how fast, how slow, how skilled the baseball student/player is, I am dedicated to making a positive mental and physical impact on his or her game - "Building better youth through baseball" is how I like to put it. So, with that said, I introduce Smith Baseball Academy................baseball - the right way. O.K, all that was a little corny, I admit it. Coach Rob Smith |
